Gaps in service delivery exist, and there’s a pressing need for better collaboration among central ministries and state governments. AI and IT are expanding their reach into various sectors, such as education and healthcare. The India AI initiative’s first phase concentrated on identifying and addressing real-world issues through AI solutions. Following this, new challenges from diverse ministries are being tackled, making this a continually evolving effort. Additionally, the India Semiconductor Mission is gaining ground with major investments set for production soon, indicating a robust future for hardware advancements.
With the MeitY Startup Hub aiding deep tech innovation, the roadmap for the next phase of the India Semiconductor Mission is being finalized. The Design-Linked Incentive (DLI) scheme has already seen a surge of interest, with several companies approved for chip design projects. In five years, MeitY aims to develop electronics, semiconductor manufacturing, and digital governance, positioning India as a player in the global supply chain.
Now, as AI matures throughout the India AI mission, there’s a focus on local languages with initiatives like Bhashini. Recognizing India’s rich linguistic tapestry, Bhashini is key.
