Microsoft Launches AI-Powered Support Virtual Agent for Xbox Users
Microsoft has launched an AI-powered Xbox Support Virtual Agent for select users to address gaming support issues via text or voice. It’s currently in testing and available to Xbox Insiders in the US.
Microsoft has rolled out an AI-powered virtual agent aimed at providing gamers with on-demand support. The Xbox Support Virtual Agent, which allows players to ask questions both via text and voice, pulls information from the Xbox Support page to address queries. For now, this virtual assistant is in a testing phase and is available only to select users through the Xbox Insider Program.
This new Support Virtual Agent can sift through Xbox Support documents to deliver answers on various issues, whether they relate to consoles or specific games. If, by chance, the AI can’t solve the problem, players can still connect with a live support representative, but only during standard Xbox Support hours.
Currently, this feature is open to a limited group of Xbox Insiders in the United States who prefer English as their language. To access the Support Virtual Agent, these users can navigate to the “Contact us” page on Xbox Support. After signing in with their Xbox accounts, they can easily engage with the AI by clicking the “Ask a question” button in the new chat interface.
The interaction with the AI is pretty flexible. Players can choose to type their questions or speak them aloud. Plus, the Support Virtual Agent’s preview includes some customization options. Users have the option to select between two different agents by clicking on the ellipsis menu icon. Feedback is also encouraged—players can react to responses via the “thumbs up” or “thumbs down” buttons.
Microsoft’s new AI-driven Xbox Support Virtual Agent is designed to streamline the gaming support process for its users.
